OPEN POSITIONS

PROCESSOR

Taney Engineering is a full-service civil engineering and land survey company.  We are a leader in land development and public works engineering, employing 60+ team members with diverse experience in commercial/industrial, energy, healthcare, public, residential and transportation engineering.

 

We are looking for a full-time Processor to assist a Project Coordinator in an administrative capacity with land development approvals, applications, and filing.  You’ll be an integral part of an engineering team and aid in the submittal process between different team members and departments.  This position will help keep projects on schedule by preparing submittals, tracking the progress and following up with documenting plan submittals through to approval and communicating with clients and agencies. 

 

We are seeking an entry-level candidate that will act personable and professionally.  This person should have the capacity to enthusiastically learn the required documents and submittal packages as outlined by the agencies we work with.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as good organizational habits, will ensure you are successful in your role.  Reasonable experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Outlook are expected.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Project Coordinator with various administrative responsibilities as assigned by the project manager and project coordinator.

  • Compiling land use application documents into submittal packages in accord with agency standards.

  • Scan and file small and large documents.

  • Email components of submittal packages to clients as required by them.

  • Assist in set up of project letters or other documents for the design team.

  • Process and document various types of plan submittal packages from inception to approval according to agency requirements and Taney procedures.

  • Attend submittal appointments as necessary.

  • Assist with pick up/drop off between clients and agencies as necessary during runner absence.

  • Follow up with agencies and utilities for submittal receipts and submittal status.

  • Coordinate online documents requisition or submission from governing agencies.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma and preferably 1 year of office administrative experience.

  • Preference would be given to a candidate with experience in a civil engineering or land development environment.

  • Proficient computer skills, MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe.

  • Proficient web user, navigating websites and downloading data and forms.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works in a climate-controlled, fast-paced engineering office environment.

WORK HOURS:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Overtime is occasional if necessary.

ENTRY LEVEL DESIGNER 

Taney Engineering is a full-service civil engineering and land surveying firm looking to expand its team with additional talent.  The Entry Level Designer position is a full-time, in-office role in Las Vegas, NV.  Our clients include companies engaged in all types of development, including residential, commercial, industrial.  We appreciate enthusiastic and self-driven individuals and want to help them grow with us.  Our environment is fast-paced, with team members that encourage each other in a collaborative atmosphere. An Entry Level Designer will be an essential team player.  Building plan sets and aiding in project plan development. Critical thinking, complex problem solving and thorough research are all part of design development.  At Taney Engineering, we provide training running the spectrum of the design process for a land development plan package.  You’ll learn due diligence, site planning, notation, zoning codes, underground utilities, topography, coordination with entities, contractors, survey, and plan production.

An ideal candidate possesses the ability to exercise sound judgment, remain organized, have excellent multi-tasking skills, ask questions and excellent communication and have a basic ability to read and understand civil land development plan sets.  Applicants should be familiar with Land Development concepts and AutoCAD or other computer-aided drafting software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan production setup within AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Design, detail and annotate full civil improvement plan sets as directed by senior designers.

  • Research existing conditions from available sources and perform site visits.

  • Research municipal code and zoning ordinances to incorporate into designs.

  • Develop planning documents and exhibits including maps, reports, letters, comprehensive and local plan packages, and presentation materials.

  • Collaborate with interoffice teams and departments to prepare land development plans for submittal.

  • Assist in the development of simultaneous projects with competing priorities.

  • Address comments from clients and governing agencies.

  • Translate sketches and ideas into design features.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Additional related work experience can be substituted for a degree).

  • 0-2 years of design experience utilizing AutoCAD, AutoCAD C3D, or other computer-aided drafting software.

  • Software experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and other basic computer programs.

  • Ability to transfer notes, redlines or verbal explanations onto a drawing generated in AutoCAD.

  • Excellent writing/editing, research, communication, critical thinking, and presentation skills.

  • Understanding of engineering plans, maps and records.​
