Designer II
Taney Engineering is a full-service civil engineering and land surveying firm looking to expand its team with additional talent. The Designer II position is a full-time, in-office role in Las Vegas, NV. Our clients include companies engaged in all types of development, including residential, commercial, industrial. A Designer II will be an essential team player. Building plan sets and aiding in project plan development. Critical thinking, complex problem solving and thorough research are all part of design development. You should have experience in due diligence, site planning, notation, zoning codes, underground utilities, topography, coordination with entities, contractors, survey, and plan production.
An ideal candidate possesses the ability to exercise sound judgment, remain organized, and have excellent multi-tasking skills. They should ask questions and have excellent communication. Designers at this level have the ability to read and understand civil land development plan sets. Applicants should be familiar with civil land development concepts and Civil 3D.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Additional related work experience can be substituted for a degree).

2-5 years of design experience utilizing Civil 3D or other similar computer-aided drafting software.

Software proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and other basic computer programs.

Ability to transfer notes, redlines or verbal explanation onto a drawing generated in AutoCAD.
-
Excellent writing/editing, research, communication, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
-
Understanding of engineering plans, maps and records.
-
Experience with local Las Vegas Valley governing agency requirements and standards for plan preparation and development.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
-
Plan production setup within Civil 3D.
-
Design, detail and annotate full civil improvement plan sets.
-
Research existing conditions from available sources and perform site visits.
-
Research municipal code and zoning ordinances to incorporate into designs.

Develop planning documents and exhibits, including maps, reports, letters, comprehensive and local plan packages, and presentation materials.

Collaborate with interoffice teams and departments to prepare land development plans for submittal.
-
Assist in the development of simultaneous projects with competing priorities.

Address comments from clients and governing agencies.

Translate sketches and ideas into proposed civil designs in Civil 3D.
JOB TYPE: Full-time
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Occasionally, the employee may need to work overtime as deemed necessary.

Billing Analyst
Taney Engineering, a partner firm of HFW Company, is a full-service civil engineering and land survey company. We are a leader in land development and public works engineering, employing 65+ team members with diverse experience in commercial/industrial, energy, healthcare, public, residential and transportation engineering.
We are looking for a full-time Billing Analyst to ensuring that the billing policies and procedures are implemented on a regular basis and in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner.
We are seeking an experienced candidate that has excellent command of the English language and strong communication skills. Candidate should possess ability to interpret complex accounting material. Analytical knowledge using general business mathematical skills and ability to enter financial and other information accurately into the company accounting system is expected. Reasonable experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and submit Billing Requests to project managers for review on a weekly basis.

Collect, receive and review Client billing authorizations. Issue invoices for final review.
-
Submit approved invoices to clients in a timely manner, and per client instructions.

Analyze Work-In-Progress balances in order to maximize billings and minimize loss of potential revenue.
-
Ensure contract amounts agree with amounts entered into accounting systems.

Communicate with clients on a regular basis in order to maximize collections and minimize write offs.

Review and entry of Accounts Payable
-
Prepare lien releases as needed for client remittances.

Prepare reports and participate in staff meetings as required.

Perform the above tasks in order to achieve measurable goals as determined by Management from time to time.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business or similar field; Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
-
A minimum of five to eight years of work experience in an office environment in Accounting, Administration or similar capacity.
-
Experience in maintaining proper Accounting and other business records and files, including electronic data, and updating those records as required.

Sufficient knowledge of, and experience with, proprietary software, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Internet to perform assigned duties and tasks.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works in a climate controlled, fast paced engineering office environment, with an emphasis on accounting controls and financial management.
WORK HOURS:
This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It is expected that additional work hours may occasionally be needed beyond the standard 40 hours per week to meet deadlines.
