Taney Engineering provided civil engineering and land surveying for this new replacement elementary school. The school is a 91,500sf, two story, CMU design prototype. Civil site design included demolition, utilities, water/sewer, drainage, parking, curb & gutter, lighting, sidewalks, ADA, and playground. Challenges included the site being old and had an extensive hydrology issue. There was an elevation issue against the neighbor’s property, and some utility challenges. To resolve these the Taney team filled in the trench for the drainage issue, added retaining walls and a chain link fence to protect neighbors property and all utilities and site was brought up to current standards and code.
