Taney Engineering provided both survey and materials testing services for the construction of the BNSF Des Lacs Railroad Bridge. The bridge consisted of eight, 40-foot concrete piers; eight concrete-filled, 60-inch diameter steel pilings of various heights up to 25-feet; two abutments; seven concrete pier and pile cap beams; and two concrete girder rails supporting a 450-foot bridge deck capable of supporting fully loaded freight trains. Survey control was extremely tight, especially vertically. Taney participated in all weekly safety meetings and fulfilled its survey and testing operations without incident.
